Valtournenche - Breuil Cervinia

At an altitude of 3,500 metres, at Plateau Rosà (reachable by ski lift from Cervinia in just over half an hour), skiing is also possible in summer. The high altitude of the glacier guarantees well compacted snow throughout the season, with slopes suitable for all levels of ability.

Starting from the Plateau Rosà glacier at 3,480 m asl, a unique and spectacular place, you will arrive in Cervinia on a 10 km long trail. Please note, this trail is not always open and will be opened when conditions permit, daily authorisation given for the ascent by cable car.

The famous Blue Lake of Cervinia (a stone's throw from the village, near the state road that climbs from Valtournenche, just before the tunnel that reaches the village) owes its fame to the particular colour of its waters and the reflection of the Matterhorn.

Horseback riding amidst unspoilt nature and an assured view of the Matterhorn: at the Cavalieri del Cervino stables, near the Alpage restaurant (locality of Lago Blu, Cervinia), horseback riding, lessons for beginners and pony rides for children are organised, as well as pony games and treasure hunts.

You can play on the outdoor tennis courts in Cervinia (at the beginning of the road from Cervinia to the Chapel of the Alpini and the Oriondé Refuge) and in Valtournenche (in the sports complex). Private and group lessons are available.

Our summer offer in Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche is enriched this week by a new attraction, making Cervino Mountain Paradise a place where the variety of experiences is unique.

Located in the picnic area, at the entrance to our village (just outside the tunnel), "La Borna dou Djounas" (the owl's nest) is the new adventure park dedicated to children.

Snowboard camp from Monday to Friday, 5 days of lessons from 9 a.m. until summer lift closure. Each group will consist of a limited number of participants to guarantee the quality of the lessons. Open to all levels; from beginner snowboarders to professionals.

Named after the man who first reached the summit of the Matterhorn along the Via Italia on 17 July 1865, the Sentier J. A. Carrel winds its way for no less than 30 kilometres (although it is possible to walk individual stages of the trail) along the entire Breuil valley

More than 200 kilometres of hiking trails, from those at high altitude to those for families or hikers who just want to walk and relax, surrounded by quiet countryside and forests, following well-marked paths with breathtaking views, just a stone's throw from Cervinia and Valtournenche urban centres.

An 18-hole golf course with a breathtaking view of the Matterhorn has been a must for golf enthusiasts since 1955. Open all summer, golf is the perfect sport to follow the 3,000-metre ski slopes of Plateau Rosà. Intense competitive events take place during the season. The Club House, with its restaurant and cafeteria, is particularly pleasant.

Where else should you picnic! The wide meadows and shady forests offer the best picnics. In Cervinia, a stone's throw from the village (near the tunnel), you can cook a barbecue while your children play here, where there is also an adventure playground for the little ones.

Over 200 ski instructors teach in Cervinia and Valtournenche. Our ski schools, all with instructors specialised in teaching Alpine skiing, snowboarding, telemark and cross-country skiing, organise private and group lessons using the latest technical equipment and teaching aids.

Whether you prefer the diagonal pass or the double chair, whatever your skill level, narrow skis are at their best in the Matterhorn Valley, thanks to the many panoramic slopes that cross an unspoilt landscape covered with natural snow and dense forests.

Fly over the slopes of the ski circuit with skis on your feet. Tandem paragliding is one of Cervinia's main attractions for those seeking an adrenalin rush on holiday. You will fly with one of our experienced instructors. Flights take off from Plan Maison, in the Pancheron area (near the chairlift arrival station) or from Plateau Rosà. Reservations are required.

Ice skating in the city centre on a specially prepared natural ice rink with a view of the Matterhorn: the rink is open until midnight (and equipped with artificial lighting) and you can also book a curling match or organise hockey games. Open from November to March.

A romantic dinner in one of the restaurants along the ski circuit and then an unforgettable moonlight descent when there is a full moon.

Known as 'IndianPark', Cervinia's snowpark is located in Plan Maison and its vital statistics are truly astounding: 400 metres long and 100 metres wide, providing a freestyle area of over four hectares.

The sports complex in Valtournenche has an indoor climbing wall that can be used to keep fit or simply to try out a new sport, also suitable for children.

One of the most special attractions is dog sledding, which takes the form of sleigh rides on beautiful huskies, fierce-looking dogs with unmistakable blue eyes. A "journey" that recalls Alaska, Canada, but also lives in Cervinia, an experience in close contact with nature, immersed in the silence of snow-covered paths where the only sounds are those produced by the running of these splendid animals and the skids of the sled.
